I need a personal assistant

I wish I had energy to match all the stuff swirling around in my brain. So many things I should, could, aught to do. After a long day at work and after a pleasant and companionable walk with my favorite husband, there just isn't much left. I have to tell my active brain to shut up already and let me rest.

Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe if I could just hire one of those personal concierge services. I could call them up and give them the list of unfinished things. They are simple things really. They just don't get done. Return those clothes that didn't fit, take that outfit to the cleaners, load up and drop off the stuff meant for Goodwill, re-pot that root bound plant, return the book I borrowed.

"I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow". I totally get Scarlett O'Hara.

I have to make lists to stay sane. Most of the time I don't actually cross everything off the list but if I write it down I know I won't forget it so I can stop worrying about it. Also, I drink a lot of wine. That seems to help.

How about I will finish all your "undone" things and leave you with my three girls?! How is that for a tradeoff! ;) I think I would be getting the better end of the deal...I don't remember the last time I got to run an errand without someone tugging on my shirt or grabbing candy at the counter...

Totally. Usually, after the third or fourth (or ninth or tenth) "we need to do this", or "we need to do that", Rudy looks at me like, "I hope you're not expecting me to do or remember all that."

Seriously, I finally paid money ($10 I think) for an iPhone app called Todo - a simple and intuitive little To Do list with some added functionality like project lists, due dates, and priorities. Very useful for unloading my brain. Doesn't integrate with the iPhone calendar, though. Oh well, a little more wine and I won't care so much. :-)

Missqokc and Stephen - wine seems to be a common factor - and lists. We all know I love a good list, but maybe I'll have to try wine. Except the red stuff gives me a screaming headache.

Amanda - I would be happy to watch your beautiful children any time so you can do whatever you want! My years of schlepping kids through Walmart was so long ago the pain has faded. Kind of like childbirth! But I vaguely remember it and it wasn't relaxing, for sure. I think that's when Mark started doing all the grocery shopping.
