101 Ways to Unclutter, Lose 20 Pounds in 10 Days, 15 Must Have Fashion Items, Get Your Life Back and Be Stress Free, 5 Ways to be Great in Bed. Apparently all you have to do is read the many articles offering solutions to life’s problems and you will be stress free, thin and happy. Wish it was that easy. I’m an avid reader. I wish reading was a high calorie-burning activity. How about TV watching? I can feel the burn. OK maybe that’s a rug burn from watching TV on the floor with my feet propped up on The Bean. That’s as much action as that piece of exercise equipment has seen in a while. Like everyone else, I’m concerned about America’s high energy consumption. I’m making my own personal contribution by not expending unneeded energy. I’m pretty much the definition of energy efficient - a walking demonstration of today’s energy buzzwords: High percentage of insulation (BMI over 40%), enjoy passive solar (putting the top down at lunch and soaking up the sun), green technology (I like a good salad while surfing the internet), natural gas fired (do I really have to explain this one?)
So I’ll just add the need to exercise to my long list associated with my overactive guilt mechanism, filed under “Things I should do more often“. That’s the category that includes remembering and acknowledging the birthdays of people important to me, cleaning my shower, visiting my in-laws, helping Mark bathe the dogs, weeding the flower bed, changing my nail polish, bleaching my teeth. I’m just not that high maintenance.
I gotta go. I’m going to take a walk so that little nagging voice will shut up already.

Dear couch surfer, I just wanted to say that it has been scientifically proven that just thinking about working out is aerobically effective, so you should be burning calories by the boatload. So next time you are kicking back watching the Olympics, think hard and feel the burn!
