It IS football season, after all

My plans keep interrupting his football watching. I rarely plan things to do on the weekend, preferring to just let things happen. Or not happen, as is usually the case. But recently I've been planning things for Saturday, only to realize later that it's really messing with college football.

Mark gamely went along with camping a couple of weekends ago. At least after he realized I was not gonna back down on this one. So while tucked into a little wooded area of Turner Falls, he occasionally slipped off to turn on the Rodeo radio to catch a score or a couple of plays. Tomorrow we were planning on going to visit a church in Tulsa that he works with, so I had the brilliant idea of going today, doing some fun stuff in Tulsa, and using some of my travel points from business trips to stay in a hotel. Until I realized that OSU vs. Texas is today. Dangit. He says it's not that big a deal. But I know in his heart of hearts he just wants to spend a few hours on the couch cheering for the Cowboys.

I'm all about compromise. We can go this evening after the game, still take advantage of a little us time at the hotel, and do the fun stuff around Tulsa after church tomorrow. Who knows. Maybe I can cash in the chips from the deal and get him to happily go to the Gilcrease Museum. Cool! I love win/win solutions!

Hey! You could come to the 4A band state championship in Jenks to see your niecie while you're there tonight! Oh, maybe that wasn't what you had in mind for a "togetherness" evening...

Love ya!

Are you sure it's football season?? Hmmm....Yes, you are correct. Thus the reason on Monday nights I am allowed the smaller, outdated, bedroom tv for DWTS's, instead of the NEW, LARGE, flatscreen HD tv....I guess there is not much difference in the viewing content...Corky Ballas tackling Cloris Leachman compared to grown men tackling each other in HD. But, please give me a break...my turn already!!! I'm with ya sista...football, always messing with my activities.

Now, you know not to disturb the guys on Saturday, Sunday afternoon, Monday nights and Thursday nights and Friday nights - football times, all. I wanted to say the "all" thing because the guy from Fox News says "Fox contributors, all." Sometimes my bride has me do actual stuff on Saturdays when the Gators are on, and that's not a good thing, but we keep moving forward, anyway.
